Why we are Fundraising.

At Care at Home, we support people living in their own homes and communities to live independent and fulfilling lives. We help in any way we can to ensure those requiring support in our communities are able to live their lives the way they want to.

Something which we know is missing from our service and these communities is a space for everyone to come together. Those we care for and support have told us, they highlighted the fact they are missing a community, sometimes feeling they have nobody to turn to even for what may be a simple question.  Isolation and loneliness are significant and growing problems for those with home-based care and we want to do something about it.

We want to create local community drop-in centres which will address this very issue, spaces in which everyone is welcome to come and meet some familiar faces and form new friendships. This safe space would fill this void in their local community, offering a friendly face and a listening ear, even a soup and a sandwich, a cuppa and a fine piece. We may not have all the answers, but we’ll help to signpost people to someone who does and the support to do it. We want to help build lasting and meaningful connections which will enable people to be active and involved members of their community.

Our Challenge.

Our plan is to push ourselves out of our comfort zones & Face our fears. We have designed three challenges.

Challenge 1 – Critters - Cockroaches. spiders and snakes are some of the most misunderstood creatures in the world, but there’s nothing to be afraid of! or is there? In this unforgettable challenge, partipants will get to meet and get up close to these wriggly creatures.

Challenge 2 – Swim with Sharks - Saturday 8th Feb-  Participants will have the chance to come face-to-fin with a variety of shark species, including powerful 10ft Sand Tiger sharks as well as a huge selection of stingrays and shoals of beautiful fish.

Challenge 3 – Skydive - June 2025 - The ultimate skydiving experience.  The most exciting and memorable way to catch the very best views of Scotland , with a thrilling freefall of over 120 miles per hour. ideal for Adrenaline enthusiasts and brave first-timers.

We’re a wee team and nae the bravest, but we’re going to give it a go!

Help us change a life.
